Requiem by mightywashtub Requiem by mightywashtub
I was listening to Mozart's Requeim Mass K.626 and browsing through some stock pics and thought that these seemed to express what the song made me feel. I see it as the cries of mercy from the damned and the cries of glory from the saved. I myself am not a believer in heaven or hell, but through the music you can feel what it meant to the composer. Enough of my rambling... and be gentle I'm still new at this, the music really made an impression on me.

Lyrics from the Confutatis movement:

Confutatis maledictis, When the wicked are confounded,
Flammis acribus addictis: Doomed to flames of woe unbounded,
Voca me cum benedictis. Call me, with Thy Saints surrounded.
Oro supplex et acclinis, Low I kneel, with heart submission!
Cor contritum quasi cinis: See, like ashes my contrition!
Gere curam mei finis. Help me in my last condition!

Great job! I've spent a while looking at this and have come back to it a few times to look some more. As the others mentioned the lighting is barely off, but I really had to compare the sources to notice. For a first manipulation you did amazing well. I know what it is... LEO POWER! :p Okay maybe not. I need food.

I provided the damned. hehe I get a kick out of that. You really captured the mood of the music, I can almost hear it in my head. The black and white is very effective here.
To make manips look more realistic, sometimes it helps to synchronize the lighting effects on each layer before you combine the layers so that the light is hitting everything and everyone the same way. It's not hugely noticeable, but the light on the priests is coming from a different direction than the light in the sky.
I think music is one of the three best sources of inspiration- the other two being love and pain.

:) What an excellent point. I'll be honest (not that the image doens't say it for me) but I never even paused to consider that. Thanks I'll try and include that from now on :D Oh and you are dead on about the best sources of inspiration. Thanks again!
